Preparations

I have been out of college just over 5 weeks, but it seems like forever. I miss my old friends like crazy and this gets me mad. What has also got me mad is the endless waiting for results of my two year BTEC course.

The details are becoming clear. DeMontfort University (DMU) told me on Monday, that they have received my results are are happy to offer me an unconditional place. A letter I received today makes me believe that I have at least MERIT grades all round. In other news, my student loan application is also being looked at.

There are 6 weeks or so until I start my B.A. Honours in Drama and Creative Writing at DMU in Leicester. I’m working at m'hall still and its going ok, and I’m saving money by biking rather than bussing about. I’m also becoming independent! I’m doing my own shopping and ironing and washing. I admit that I’m not doing well, especially at the last two, but it’s a start.

The waiting for my results, my student loan application results, my housing application AND the next six weeks to pass is stressful. I am excited about going to Uni, but I’m also nervous. On top of all these worries, I need to save up money like Ebenezer Scrooge. I’ll want about £1,000 in my bank before the loan. I’ve asked for overtime at work. I’m also waiting now, just waiting for the weeks to pass and the post to come.
